About the position
As LCA Engineer you will be part of Höganäs’ Group Sustainability team and report to Manager Sustainable Products and Processes. You will be the go-to person when it comes to Life Cycle Inventory (LCI) data, drive improvements and build standardised working procedures for LCI data management across Höganäs production sites, as well as contribute to the development of LCI system support.

You will work closely with our Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) Specialists and co-operate with other stakeholders within the organisation to fulfil our strategic agenda, of which providing LCAs and product carbon footprint (PCF) internally and to prioritised customers is a key objective. You will also support data management for sustainability reporting and take the lead on specific sub-projects assigned.

Your responsibilities:


• Life Cycle Inventory (LCI) analysis
• Support our product areas with product specific climate footprint calculations
• Perform LCA modelling and document results
• Coordinate sustainability related customer requests and respond to data requests from internal and external stakeholders
• Support the organisation with data and insights to identify improvement areas for products and processes
• Support the purchasing function with data to facilitate selection of sustainable raw materials and energy
• Support development and investment projects, in providing LCA’s or PCF calculations where needed
• Maintain and update the software and databases used for LCA’s
• Continuously develop and refine methods and ways of working

This position is located at Höganäs headquarters in Höganäs, Sweden, with international and cross-functional contacts within Höganäs Group, and with external stakeholders. Travelling domestically and internationally may be required (approx. 15-30 days a year).

Your profile
We are looking for a person that has a relevant university degree (B.Sc. and/or M.Sc.) in sustainability, environmental science, engineering, or equivalent and have a minimum of 1+ year of working experience. Good knowledge of LCI analysis, LCA standards, software (preferably GaBi), and databases (ecoinvent etc). As a person you have a strong inner drive to perform your tasks individually but at the same time you are a strong team player. You possess analytical skills and the ability to focus on details, while understanding the bigger picture. You have excellent ability to communicate in an international setting, and is fluent in English, both spoken and written. Swedish language skills are a merit.

About the position
As a Sustainability data & analytics specialist you are responsible for Life Cycle Inventory (LCI) analysis. You are part of the Sustainability team and report to the Director Group Sustainability. This position will support the creation of systems for LCI data gathering and for sustainability KPIs across Höganäs production sites. 

You will work closely with our Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) Specialist in operationalizing and integrating Höganäs LCA activities.  

Our challenge today is to categorize and use our existing data in a more efficient way. Your task will be to put forward practical solutions to achieve this by conducting a data gap analysis and map out how our ERP systems can be optimized for LCI and LCA purposes.  

You will be working together with our production sites and relevant group functions to develop the data gathering and management for LCA activities and with our Sustainability Controller to support creation of systems for high- quality data gathering and processes for decision making. You will also support data management for annual sustainability and integrated reporting and take the lead on specific sub-projects assigned. 

The position is located in Höganäs, Sweden but a hybrid work setup could be arranged. Travelling domestically and internationally may be required (approx. 15-30 days).  

Your profile
We are looking for you who have a relevant university degree (B.Sc. and/or M.Sc.) in sustainability, environmental science, engineering, or equivalent and have a minimum of 2+ years of working experience, with a background in data gathering and analysis.  

Knowledge of LCA methods and tools is merited. You are a systems thinker and have prior experience of systems mapping, data capture design, and system development. You are a natural communicator and have excellent English skills in speech and writing. Swedish language skills is a merit. Prior experience in technical report writing and sustainability communication is also a merit. You have a wide manufacturing and business interest preferably with prior knowledge of the steel industry. You are a team player who actively engages people by sharing, helping or asking for help when needed. 

As a person you are proactive, transparent, performance and result oriented. You have an excellent aptitude for details with an ability to zoom in and out and see the bigger picture. To be successful in this role you need strong computer literacy (database and data mining, systems mapping and design software, excellent Microsoft Office etc.) .
