About the position
In this position you drive, develop, and support our core production processes reduction and annealing to make sure our products fulfill the demands from our customers while at the same time making our processes sustainable. Höganäs is a global leader within the metal industry, and we strive towards making our processes climate neutral.  

Besides leading a team of 8 engaged engineers, you will also be responsible for developing our processes, techniques, and full implementations of products. You will initiate and drive pre-studies and projects to create and invest in unique production processes and support the organization in information sharing and know how. We work mostly in projects which means that this is a natural way of working.  

The position is located in Höganäs. You will be part of our reduction and annealing team which is part of Global Technology, the organization where our core competencies in process development and equipment design are gathered. Global Technology's mission is to support our various facilities around the world from pre studies to project implementation and at the start of production. 

Your profile
We are looking for you with a master’s degree in mechanical or chemical engineering as well as metallurgical science or equivalent with a minimum of five years of experience in the steel and heat treatment industry or furnace equipment industry. You have experience in engineering heat transfer and fluid dynamics, combustion. You have experience in leading and developing people and processes. It is an advantage if you have some knowledge of our products regarding how they are produced and used by customers. You speak and write English and Swedish fluently.

About the position
The EMM (Electro Magnetic Materials) function is responsible for the execution of the PUSH agenda to make SMC (Soft Magnetic Composites) an industry standard and enable SMC market penetration by development of new materials. As a "Project & Process Development Engineer – SMC" within EMM, your responsibility will be to lead the technical cross-functional project management of SMC component prototypes, machined from pucks or off-tool. Additionally, your responsibility will be to optimize SMC component processes from customer’s perspective by including all relevant aspects. Those will cover running campaigns together with relevant stakeholders and build up deep know-how applicable to define and support best-in-class customer's processes.
Other main responsibilities will be to:
Develop defined test procedures to easily identify customers process capabilities (also onsite) and develop a “SMC approved“ PM house process.
Identify new component quality measures and processes to minimize SMC performance error propagation.
Support advanced customer support inquiries.
Support and supervise colleagues, including leading and assigning work.



This position can be located in either Sweden or Germany, but requires up to 50% presence at Höganäs Sweden site. Additional travelling to visit customers, suppliers and conferences will also be required.
Your profile
We are looking for you that have minimum 5 years of experience of iron powder metallurgy in R&D or process development for compaction, heat treatment and quality processes. You have a relevant university degree, MSc or equivalent (PhD beneficial).
The successful candidate has very good knowledge in material science, thermodynamics, process engineering and experience in SMC processing. You have good experience in analyzing, summarizing and explaining technical issues and results in written form, and a background in electrical & mechanical engineering (CAD).
We are looking for you that have the ability to coach, motivate and stimulate co-workers.
